They have been worshipped in all cultures as "Plants of the Gods" and considered as mediators between human beings and the universe, linking the physical to the spiritual dimensions of existence.

The "World Psychedelic Forum" in Basel presented a unique opportunity for experts, researchers, and interested persons from all around the globe, to exchange views and hear presentations of the latest research on the value of these remarkable psychedelic substances in medicine, psychology, science, religion, culture and the arts.

The Naga Babas, naked yogi-shamans, live at the margins of the world as all shamans do. Some call them "The Hell’s Angels of Indian Spirituality". Yet, even though "outsiders", they maintain a very legitimate authority and honored connection with the world.
Explorations and opening up of consciousness require journeys to the edge of the world, hoping to find such characters to act as our allies, protectors, and mentors. And, of course, the physical journey is only a small part. Albert Hofmann not only greatly facilitated this process, he provided one of the few ways in these times, to cross to the other side.

The Roots of human Violence

In this lecture Stan Grof, a world known psychiatrist and author ,describes briefly the basics of psychospiritual death and rebirth. He introduces the term "perinatal" domain, which contains all the stages of birth that we go through in a non-ordinary state of consciousness. The lecture would be of interest and help for any psychiatrists who deal with the human mind.

Nach dem gesichtsträchtigen 100 jährigen Geburtstag von Dr. Albert Hofmann (2006) und dem „Spirit of Basel“ Kongress im gleichen Jahr in Basel wurde von der Gaia Media Stiftung unter Federführung von Dieter Hagenbach und Lucius Werthmüller 2008 erneut zum „Welt Psychedelik Forum“ nach Basel eingeladen.
Zahlreiche Wissenschaftlicher, Künstler und Philosophen, sowie Interessierte waren bei vielen Vorträgen und Gesprächsrunden zu Gast und haben über die Themen Psychedelik, Forschung, Philosophie, Politik und Spiritualität diskutiert. Psy-Film.com war dabei und hat die Gelegenheit genutzt zu filmen.

Das Video anbei ist ein Interview mit Boris Hiesserer (B. Eden, Medienschamanismus, Pyromania Arts, Heidelberg). Wir nutzen sein neues Jesus Remix-Gemälde vom „Abendmahl“ als Aufhänger, um über die Aktualität der Psychedelika zu sprechen.
Auf diesem Weg begleiteten uns im Interview Schwester Teresa, eine katholische Franziskaner Nonne, Luc Sala (Amsterdam), sowie kein geringerer als Barnim Schultze (Akasha Project), der die Ehre hatte mit der LSD Vertonung den Kongress zu eröffnen.
